Tragic North Sea Fatality

Several members have contacted the RMT Offshore Energy Branch with the tragic news of a fatality on the Valaris 121 jack-up rig. Members report an incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, 14th November 2025, resulting in the death of our offshore colleague.

The RMT Offshore Energy Branch wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and work colleagues of the lad lost in this tragic incident. Lee Hulse, a roustabout with Valaris, stayed in Aberdeen. He was a young man with a young family, this is a devastating tragedy for all concerned. Lee was not a member of RMT, but was a member of the ‘offshore family.’

The Aberdeen newspaper, the Press & Journal, is reporting on the creation of a ‘Go fund’ page, the article can be found at:

Our thoughts are with the family, friends, and work colleagues
